Electrical Design engineer - Building Services Location: Scotland

As they are arguable the only true Multi Disciplinary Engineering Design consultancy in the Channel Islands my client can offer Electrical,  Mechanical,  structural,  Civil and Environmental design service to a client list that includes large developers,  public entities and private clients.  Their projects are diverse and interesting and range in size from high-end architecturally designed houses for high wealth individuals,  to commercial buildings and developments in prominent and interesting locations requiring in depth engineering solutions.  Though the demand never really dropped off through the recession,  they are now experiencing a period of high and sustained growth within their Electrical department and they are looking to hire an Electrical Engineer with experience of Designing Building services.

The role will be diverse and interesting and will allow the candidate to take control of projects from inception to completion including all site work and client visits and,  If the successful candidate isn’t chartered,  then the company will help you with guidance and mentoring to help you achieve this.

We are looking for candidates with a solid career in Building services design including all electrical,  power and lighting systems and to be successful in this role you will need;

·          BEng or BSc Electrical Engineering

·          A demonstrable history of autonomously producing detailed designs for building services projects

·          Any experience of project management would be looked upon favourably

·          Be prepared to relocate to the Channel Islands

Salary is commensurate with experience though around the £35,000 mark would be a good guide though the real draw to this role is the lifestyle change that it offers.  The Channel Islands are the most southerly part of the UK and benefit from an improved climate and a more relaxed way of life,  we envision that this role would be perfect for individuals or families looking for a sea change without leaving the creature comforts of home soil.  Contrary to popular belief Jersey isn’t just a playground for millionaires,  though there are a few there,  housing cost’s are on par with the south of England and food and supplies are at a same level to UK mainland.  The tax regime can also be very efficient with married couples with children benefitting from tax rates as low as 4%  in certain cases.

Please Note:

Due to the complexity of this search FMC has been retained as the sole agency to represent this Engineering Design Consultancy for this position and they are not accepting submissions from any other agencies so,  if you are interested,  please apply in complete confidence.
